TAMPERE DREAM HOSTEL OY – GENERAL BOOKING AND CANCELLATION TERMS

Welcome to enjoy the international atmosphere at Dream Hostel and Hotel!

We apply the general booking and cancellation terms recommended by the Finnish Hospitality Association (MaRa) to all reservations. Please read these terms carefully before making a booking. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us—we are happy to assist you. These terms apply to all accommodation bookings at Tampere Dream Hostel and Dream Hotel.

BOOKING

A reservation made by the customer becomes binding once confirmed by the hostel, either verbally or in writing. Where possible, we provide a written booking confirmation including the agreed services, prices, and cancellation conditions.

ARRIVAL

Reservations are valid until 8:00 PM on the day of arrival unless otherwise agreed. On Sundays, reservations expire at 5:00 PM as reception closes early. Please notify us in advance of any late arrivals.

For group bookings (10 or more people), a list of guests and room allocations must be provided in advance or upon arrival.

Unless otherwise agreed, rooms are available from 3:00 PM on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 11:00 AM on the day of departure. Luggage storage is available from 8:00 AM on arrival day and after check-out on departure day.

Every guest must present valid photo identification upon check-in. Access to rooms is denied to unregistered persons.

LATE CHECK­OUT

Late check-out is available subject to availability and an additional charge of €10 per hour. Please contact reception in advance to confirm availability.

PAYMENT

Accommodation is generally paid upon arrival for bookings at flexible rates.

For bookings made at a discounted non-refundable rate, full payment is required immediately upon reservation.

Payment terms and prepayment may be arranged separately if needed.

The hostel reserves the right to charge a reservation fee of 10–15% of the total booking price. This fee is non-refundable if cancellation terms are breached but will be credited toward the final payment.

Companies and organizations may arrange invoicing prior to arrival. Invoicing agreements must be made and approved before check-in, weekdays between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. A processing fee of €10 applies to each invoice.

EARLY DEPARTURE AND REFUND

If travel plans change and the guest leaves before the booked period ends, notification must be given no later than 2:00 PM the day prior to the new departure date. Refund eligibility for unused nights depends on the booking’s cancellation policy and the channel used for the reservation.

HOUSE RULES

By staying at Tampere Dream Hostel or Dream Hotel, guests agree to comply with the hostel’s rules and general codes of conduct. Failure to comply or causing disturbance may result in immediate removal without refund or obligation to provide alternative accommodation.

­Pets are unfortunately not allowed at Dream Hostel & Hotel.

ACCOMMODATION

We strive to accommodate group members in the same rooms where possible. The hostel operates a shared accommodation concept; therefore, group dormitories may include other guests unless the entire room is booked privately.

Room preferences and allocations should be communicated as early as possible. We will do our best to meet your requests.

Social areas (kitchens, lounges, bathrooms) are shared among all guests. Responsible behavior and respect for house rules are expected.

CANCELLATIONS

Guests may cancel a flexible room or bed reservation free of charge up to 2:00 PM one day before arrival.

Bookings made with limited cancellation rights will have these restrictions clearly stated at booking—please review carefully.

No-shows without timely cancellation may be charged one night’s stay, and the full reservation may be cancelled.

Reservations made with a non-refundable discounted rate require full payment upon booking. If payment is not made, the reservation may be cancelled without refund, even if modified or cancelled later.

Bookings made via third-party platforms (e.g., Booking.com, Airbnb) must be modified or cancelled directly through those services.

GROUPS

Group discounts apply to parties of 10 or more. The following cancellation and modification conditions apply unless otherwise agreed in writing:

• Free cancellation: Reservations or reductions in accommodation can be made without charge up to 30 days before arrival. Reservation fees, if applicable, are non-refundable.
• 50% charge: Cancellations or reductions made 29 to 10 days before arrival will incur a charge of 50% of the booking or modification value.
• 100% charge: Cancellations or reductions made within 9 days of arrival will be charged in full.
• Groups must provide rooming lists and participant details in advance or upon arrival.
• Different terms may apply to reservations made through external booking channels. Please always check the specific terms at the time of booking.
